Wind and the Willow
Outdoor events during a wind advisory pose an interesting challenge. Tonight's ceremony was seriously in danger of lifting off and becoming airborne. We had to wait until the last minute for placing linens, programs and flowers. Several of our hightop cocktail rounds took a header. All went well in the end though.
I would be remiss not to mention my excellent lunch today from the bistro at Willow Spring Mercantile. The roast beef sandwich had thinly sliced roast beef with tomato, cucumber and horseradish mayo on multigrain bread and was sooo good. It was accompanied by some wonderful hummus with pita chips. Daphne and Jim Bowman are the proprieters of Willow Spring (or the "Merc" ). They operate a cozy bistro in the downstairs area that is getting great word-of-mouth for their terrific food. They also sell gourmet food items and Missouri wines. Check them out at http://www.shopthemercantile.com/.
The happy little fella in the window is our General Manager Eric's son, Brody. Cute, ain't he?
