Boomin' Biz for Grooms
I've done my share of bashing groom's cakes through the season. The fact is, the groom's cake is doing booming business and getting more elaborate all of the time.
The first groom's cake I really experienced during my current wedding work was for one of the most upscale affairs we had done at the hotel. The wedding was hosted by the Mother of the bride who was a well-to-do from Manhattan, NY. She e-mailed us multi-chapter wedding plans, enlightened us as to guests that would include senators and ambassadors and put the announcement in the New York Times. Jacque with the Bridal Kitchen is one of our favorite vendors and she specializes in groom's cakes. She is one of the hardest working dynamos in the biz. She is pictured with her fish head cake and check out her beer cooler cake at yesterday's Bridal Show. Her brochure shows a wide array of groom's cakes. One of the cakes is a 2-liter bottle of Mountain Dew. Wow....
I would be remiss not to mention the 40th anniversary of Sesame Street. It would have been a much bleaker childhood without Sesame Street and the Electric Company. Here's to one of the stars, that connoisseur of all things cookie, Cookie Monster!! Cooooookkkkieeee!!!!
The beer cooler cake is cool!!
