Scandinavian Holiday
Later this afternoon we attended the annual Toys for Tots Open House at the amazing home of Torben and Jytte Klarlund. We are crazy about this Scandinavian couple who together have enough personality to fill a small country. Their home reflects their joyous nature. It's pure whimsy and charm from the moment you step out of the car where you are greeted by the friendly llamas. Inside the house, there's an abundant array of unique touches from figurines dating to the 1800's to Scandinavian holiday decor in every corner. A Toys for Tots fundraiser makes sense for Torben to host as he has several displays of vintage toys all over the home. Torben and Jytte collect a sizable amount of toys every year.
And then there's the food...which is all prepared by them and all delicious. Meats and cheeses, fruits and vegetables, dips and sauces. The dessert table is worth the visit alone with the centerpiece being a Black Forest Cake that will knock your socks off.
The rest of the evening will be spent in a food coma....zzzzzz
