National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I, like everyone else, have lost friends and family to cancer. Presently, my old friend Wendy and my co-worker Gerri are fighting the good fight against breast cancer.

The Better Homes and Garden Limited Edition Breast Cancer Cookbook is a worthy buy that helps support the cause of fighting this disease. It features a "pink" edition that highlights foods and recipes that can help fight cancer. Also included are contributions from celebrity chefs as well as witty, inspirational quotes. There are over 1200 recipes and most importantly, 1% of the proceeds go to the Komen for the Cure Foundation to fight breast cancer.
