It's been a mentally draining day and the weather, at least, for the next 24 hours, is turning gray and chilly, ushering in another taste of winter, lest we forget what that feels like (as if we could this year). So, I'm giving my mind a rest and thinking about warmer days ahead. I saw this photo on Huff Post Food today and the colors just inspired me to think about sunshine. Yes, its breakfast as food porn. This dish is an acai bowl; its centerpiece is that Brazilian superfruit loaded with antioxidants. Frozen acai pulp is blended super-smooth and topped off with granola, berries, nuts and honey. It just looks so bright and super-healthy and apparently is all the rage in Hawaii, proving everything really is better there, including breakfast.
So, I'm going straight to denial stage about the cold rain pelting the skylight and the snow we're expecting by morning. Instead, I will imagine myself having one of these acai bowls for breakfast, looking at a Hawaiian sunrise cascading over a tranquil ocean.
